	an estimate. On the Dyson farm, there are fields of stubble either side of the concrete road and north of the track west of the old railway leading to the Ridgeway with an emerging cover crop which currently hold a lot of birds. They are difficult to count with the vegetation cover and because they are mobile. As well as the pipits, which seem to be the most numerous species, there are (in descending order of apparent abundance) Linnets, Skylarks, Starlings (about 100-120, I estimate), Yellowhammers, Goldfinches & Corn Buntings (see separate count).
