The possible Iberian Chiff is, in my opinion, just a normally coloured Common Chiff. The song is usually a series of 'chiffs', although I heard it utter a couple of 'chaffs'. The 'weet' calls were given separately and not part of the song. There's another Chiffchaff at Woolhampton G.P. which also only gives 'chiffs' when singing. Please keep to the main paths.

Possible Iberian (I'm no expert) as reported yesterday, still about and singing well full grid ref: SU4860664240. south of the silos. A dull looking bird with no hint of brighter colouration. showed agression to other chiffies and also prdouced a brief burst of excitable song as did another bird? I certainly do not recall a bird with such an unusual song which was emitted persistently. sound recorded and watched for over 1/2 hr. SU486642. Please keep to the main paths.

POSSIBLE IBERIAN CHIFF singing from trees next to perimeter fence of old silo hangers (East side). Song starts with usual chiffs etc but finishes with often three or four 'weep weep weep weep' notes. Am not familiar with 'Ibe' song but it does sound similar to some of the recordings on the web! Make of it what you will! Certainly a distinctive song. Please keep to the main paths.

Heard vocalising on the southern boundary of the site. Also noted were a Meadow Pipit, south at 15:39, three Goldcrest, one in song, a very mobile Grey Wagtail, a minimum of 27 Carrion Crow about the site and two Fox showing for some time in the late afternoon sun.
