16:05	various. This roost is becoming one of the most spectacular bird sights in East Berkshire and I finally found time to attempt a count. Flocks arrived almost every few seconds from 16.00 to 16.40 when I left. Most appeared to approach from the East and as it is impossible to count accurately I estimated each group and tallied them up. When I left at 16.40 a two hundred yard strip of the woods bordering the M4 north side was so full of parakeets it was almost impossible to pick out individual calls from the wall of noise. SU942798.
