| 14:47 | 1w. Three birds located on far side of fen at 0930hrs. All three had pale grey mantles however 2 were still too dark for White Wagtail. The third bird was paler mantled and appeared to be a male and so looked superficially like White but all three had too much black/dark grey in the rump, White would only have some dark on the upper tail coverts. I am not saying that the earlier reported White Wagtails were incorrectly identified (I was not there at the time) but 1st winter pieds are similar and obviously more common. One flew over to MGLR and was photographed by the hide. Please only view from the public bridleway. | |||
