08:45	Sitting by the gate to the field behind the hide on my arrival, and presumably the bird seen there yesterday morning. Obviously stuck in the field with no clue how to escape. Rescued it and popped it over the fence into the GP. Very warn primaries, so possibly in moult. Not very thankfull at being rescued !

	Pr + ad m + 1 cygnet, sick, taken to Eton. 5+ young were hatched, 4 have died, cause unknown. Added later: the sick cygnet also died from lead poisoning. Comparatively high numbers of swans have died at Whiteknights since 1987.
