m. Purring in same ash tree and showing at distance.

m. Perched on dead branches at top of tall (Ash?) tree on western side - across the pit from the track along river. Preened for about 7 minutes then flew into trees along flooded area, where heard 'purring'.

Purring briefly at top of dead ash tree. Local had commented on bird feeding in garden along A4.

purring from apprx 1602 for 15 minutes or so ,at top of bare Ash tree ,and then moved into flooded wood,still being heard. Best viewed and heard from alongside Kennet. PLEASE DO NOT ENTER THE SITE.

male. Heard purring then seen perched in a dead tree towards back of small spinney alongside Hog Oak Lane 200 metres south of Drift Road. Could be the habitual Hog Oak bird slightly off territory. No Willow Warbler singing. Footnote: after a number of subsequent visits to this area no further sign so likely to have been a migrant. SU893749.
