Yellow-legged Gull split
2 November 2005 | Marek Walford
The BOU taxonomy sub-committee recently published its third report on taxonomic changes to the British List. It's a long document (3,467 words) so to save you the trouble of reading it thoroughly I've extracted the relevant information with regards to the Berkshire List.
The snippet of news that will be of most interest to Berkshire listers is that Yellow-legged Gull has been split from Herring Gull. However, the taxonomic status of Caspian Gull is still under review.
