11:00	male. Appeared whilst I was looking at Siskins, called, landed on top of tree; enough time to take a few shots, before it flew. On looking at images the bird showed two broad bright white wing bars! Tertial tips difficult to see. Call though sounded like common. Interesting bird.

11:40	pair. I was taken to the area where the Parrot Crossbill have been seen regularly. Around 11:40 a pair of Common Crossbill flew into one of the Scots Pine used by the birds, called a few times and then vanished. Hardly any other species seen in 3 very wet hours spent in the area. SU871633.
