17:15 | Seen in silhouette against bright sky through window, so not absolutely 100% sure of size. Flying west, just south of canal west of Newbury. Noticeably long tail, long wings, quick shallow flaps interspersed with short glides. Mostly obscured by the sun by the time I got on to it outside, but could see well-raised wings during glides on the receding bird. SU462670. | |||

| 10:20 | male. Good views for about 1 min of it flying east along the valley - dropped down over East fen but kept going. Please only view from the public footpath. | |||
