A male spent about 5 minutes carrying a large beetle, and flying across the meadow, occasionally dropping down into the vegetation. It reappeared each time still with the insect, and then a female appeared, both dropped into the grass and when they emerged the beetle had gone. If I had seen that a few months ago I would have presumed breeding.
