09:30	Yesterday next doors roof-nesting starlings fledged. One didn't do well. Weak flight and not as loud as its siblings. This morning I found it (I presume) dead as a dodo (but whole) on our lawn. Within an hour one of our omnipresent red kites swooped down and made off with it, quick as you like. Cue Elton John and "Circle of Life"...
