Incredible sight of a hobby repetitively stooping and then "re-stooping" (is that a word?) at migrating house martins on Wellers Lane at lunch today low and right beside us. Wasn't bothered by our car either - in fact I thought it was destined to hit our winscreen on at least two stoops. Eventually unsuccessful, it flew off east. This is not the first nor even the second time I've seen hobby at Syngenta but never like today. A wonderful sight.

Hawking low over the heath as it clouded over this afternoon. Pretty slim pickings for this bird in terms of dragonflies today - we only counted 4 spp. (Four-spotted chaser, broad-bodied chaser, black-tailed skimmer, emperor) and just 2 individuals of each.
