| not sure if this is a known roost site but 7.30am very large flock of 250+ birds erupted from M4 north motorway embankment trees opposite sewage farm, may be as many as 500+, later returning at 6.30pm flock had resettled in a 50 yard plus stretch of trees. May be countable from bridge east of sewage farm (Eton Wick road?). | ||||

| 07:00 | I counted the entire roost on photoshop this morning over the course of about an hour. (Took photos of entire roost before any birds left the roost, placed a bright green dot on each bird in PhotoShop and used a manual clicker to count them all). Result, PJS and GM were pretty-well spot on in their best estimate yesterday - I counted 1990 birds in total, +/- 10 or so. | Gerald Marsh and I attempted to estimate the number roosting north of the M4 (opposite Slough Sewage Works). They were roosting mostly in 2 large groups, approx 200m apart, and density varied so hard to count. We are sure there were more than 1500 and probably over 2000 but need to find a better way of counting them. | ||||
