1m at least, about half juv. Covey resting along a tussocky strip between tilled fields at SU853832. Count is a minimum as more might have been hidden and birds were 1/4 mile from me at the entrance to the farm. I am confident they bred here (pair seen in exactly same place in April).

In one of the fields which usually sway with wheat but this year have all been given over to crops of broad beans, presumably for biofuel as very few beans have formed - not surprising as the crop spraying must have turned off the bees big-time.

Also present: Linnet, Corn Bunting, 1x Buzzard, Yellowhammer, 2x Chaffinch, 5x Lapwing (although no doubt more out of sight), Skylark, ~1000 Wood Pigeon, ~500 Starling, ~500 Black Headed Gulls, 2x Red Kite and 75x Fieldfare.

2 pairs seen. Also present; 8 Fieldfare, 2 Red Kite, 1 Buzzard, Skylark, large flocks of Linnet and Yellowhammer, at least 12 Corn Buntings, ~40 Lapwing and good numbers of Golden Plover.
