In North reed bed, flew to middle left and not seen more than 5 more minutes. Was not seen well enough, be could be a different bird from the one seen 11th.

I was out for a walk at this suburban site when a heron-like bird came flying from the direction of the Thames Valley. I had no bins with me but as it flew past me quite close but at no great height I noted the brown body, thick neck that was kinked but then level with the rest of the body, the bowed wings that were not long but rounded at the ends, and the protruding legs. Overall size was smaller and more compact than Grey Heron. It flew on in a south easterly direction. Bitterns are known to winter at Dinton Pastures, which is in that general direction. SU747731.

Viewing from Bittern hide, the bird was quite far right. Assuming the 2 WSL birds are still present, now at least 3 on DP.
